occasional sculpture and a boat or two along the way " He began by apprenticing with Michael T. Maxwell, a traditional furniture maker in Bedford, VA. This instant knowledge was so addicting that he spent the next couple of summers collecting titles such as assistant and intern at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Penland School of Crafts and Anderson Ranch Arts Center. In two summers he worked with over 20 woodworkers from the US, Canada, and Japan. Since 2004, Benjie has run Brosborne Woodesign (www.thiswasatree.com) which is currently located in the Artisan Resource Center in Marietta, GA. His more recent accomplishments include one of his furniture pieces being published in 500 Tables by Lark Books, an in progress collaboration piece for SCANA Energy with Ellen Kochansky, and being featured in Cobb Life a local GA magazine. |
